Christmas at Seven Sisters Market
Christmas arrived at Seven Sisters Market with a weekend of music, dancing, lights, hot food and community celebration.
The festivities began on Friday 5th December as traders, families, friends and neighbours came together to light up the Christmas tree, generously donated by Tottenham Hotspur. The tree brought a beautiful festive centrepiece to the market and marked the start of a joyful weekend filled with culture, connection and seasonal spirit.
Live music from @nicky.b helped set the mood, bringing people together for an evening of celebration in the heart of the market. With music, dancing, delicious hot food and an amazing atmosphere, the event was a chance for the community to gather, share the moment and enjoy the start of the Christmas season together.
The celebration continued across the weekend with El Día de las Velitas — The Day of the Little Candles — a much-loved Colombian tradition that celebrates light, hope and togetherness. Bringing this tradition into Seven Sisters Market was a special way to honour the culture and heritage of many people in our community, while inviting everyone to take part in a warm and meaningful Christmas celebration.
From the Christmas tree lighting to the music, dancing, hot food and cultural traditions, Christmas at Seven Sisters Market was a reminder of what makes the market so special: people coming together, supporting local traders, celebrating heritage and creating new memories as a community.
