Our Community
From its early roots at Wards Corner to the opening of the new market, Seven Sisters Market continues as a home for Latin American enterprise, everyday connection and shared pride.
Seven Sisters Market is rooted in Latin American culture and shaped by the many communities that call Tottenham home. Known to many as the Latin Village, the market carries the colours, flavours, music and everyday warmth of Colombia, Peru and the wider Latin American diaspora, while welcoming customers, neighbours and visitors from every nationality.
Haringey’s Latin American community has grown significantly in recent years, more than doubling between the 2011 and 2021 Census to over 10,000 residents. That pride is felt throughout the market: in the food cooked with memory and care, the businesses built by families, the languages spoken across the stalls, and the familiar greetings between traders and customers.
But Seven Sisters Market is not only for one community. It is a place for everyone. Whether you are coming for lunch, fresh produce, fashion, beauty, tailoring, money transfer, advice, or simply to spend time somewhere lively and welcoming, the market offers a genuine Tottenham welcome. Its traders bring skill, resilience and hospitality to every unit, creating a space where culture is celebrated openly and customers are treated like neighbours.
“Rooted in Latin American pride, open to every community.”

Community space
The new Community Space at Seven Sisters Market is a flexible urban room on the high street, created for learning, connection, support and shared activity. It is a place for residents, traders, local organisations and visitors to come together, access services, take part in programmes and help shape the future of Wards Corner.
Open for bookings every day of the week, the space can be used for community activities, drop-in sessions, private hire events, youth play, learning programmes, workshops and gatherings. Whether you are hosting a meeting, running a local project, sharing skills or creating something new, the Community Space offers a welcoming setting in the heart of the market.
The space also hosts Community Drop-In Sessions, open gatherings where people can learn more about the Community Plan, hear what has been developed so far, and share ideas for the future of the market and the community space. These sessions are an opportunity to connect, reflect on the market’s history and culture, and imagine how a future permanent market can better support the people who use it.
The Community Space is bookable through the Wards Corner website.
